It's more narrow than it looks, and the handle has almost the same cross section size as the blade. Still very good for sparring.

Bokken - Foam is a practical foam bokken for beginners, students, and light contact training, giving you a simple practice sword option for controlled drills, basic handling, and technique work.

Foam Bokken for Practice Sword Drills

This training bokken offers a padded sword alternative when you want a lighter-contact option for martial arts weapon practice. It is a straightforward choice for students building confidence with grip, movement, distance, and form before progressing to more demanding training tools.

The foam design makes it useful for partner drills, introductory weapon classes, and supervised practice where control matters. It can help new practitioners focus on positioning and timing while keeping training approachable and easy to manage.

Training Bokken for Light-Contact Martial Arts Weapon Practice

Use this padded sword for controlled martial arts drills, basic striking patterns, and form practice where a softer practice sword is preferred. As with any martial arts weapon, training should be done with awareness, proper spacing, and guidance from an instructor or qualified coach.

For schools, clubs, and individual students, a foam bokken can be a practical addition to training equipment because it supports repetition without the feel of a rigid wooden weapon. It is best suited to light-contact practice and learning fundamentals rather than uncontrolled sparring.

Available in Two Lengths

Choose the size that best suits your training needs. Available in two lengths.

If you are unsure which length to choose, consider the type of drills you will be doing, your comfort with handling, and any size guidance from your instructor or class. Selecting the right length can make practice sword work feel more balanced and easier to control.
